Supporting the communities we serve

As a leader in the health care sector, Mölnlycke Health Care feels a strong sense of commitment both to the medical profession and to patients undergoing treatment. 
By donating time, products, and money, we help improve the lives of patients and support those who care for them. Working within the community in this way also enables our business and the organizations we support to remain sustainable.

Who we support

Our primary global charity partner is Operation Smile (external link, opens in a new window), a medical volunteer organization that provides free cleft lip and cleft palate repair surgery for children born with facial deformities. As well as funds, we have donated nearly 1.4 million pairs of Biogel® surgical gloves to this organization. We also run an Operation Smile Volunteer Program, through which our employees can join Operation Smile missions.

We are also proud to support DEBRA (external link, opens in a new window), a charity working on behalf of people with the genetic skin blistering condition epidermolysis bullosa (EB). DEBRA provides specialist EB nursing, funds extensive medical research, and provides counselling, welfare, respite, and advocacy.

We provide relief aid at a global level when natural disasters strike – and local Mölnlycke Health Care sales offices give support to local organizations working within their communities.

What we expect of the organizations we support

We receive many requests for donations. We are committed to meeting as many of these as we can – where it is appropriate, possible and practical to do so.

To ensure that our support is appropriate, the organizations should:

  • Clearly state their mission and purpose
  • Work in the medical field
  • Be actively engaged in either working to improve the lives of patients, to improve staff protection, or to increase the level of knowledge in the medical field
  • Provide credible and measurable results
  • Produce research based on solid scientific facts

The initiatives we support must also be in line with Advamed or Eucomed guidance. We also expect organizations receiving donations from Mölnlycke Health Care to provide us with unrestricted access to pictures and stories of their work. We believe we can further spread knowledge about them by using stories and pictures in our material.
