Mepilex® Heel Ag is a foam dressing for moderately exuding wounds, leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, partial thickness burns and traumatic wounds.  Mepilex® Heel Ag can be used under compression bandages. Mepilex® Heel Ag is a dressing with Safetac® technology, and therefore proven to minimize pain and skin damage at dressing changes2,3

When to use Mepilex Heel Ag



Mepilex Heel Ag is an absorbent heel dressing – designed for a wide range of low to moderately exuding wounds that show signs of infection. Whether applied to the heel or malleolus, Mepilex Heel Ag absorbs exudates effectively and ensures a low risk of maceration. To further enhance protection against infections the Mepilex Heel Ag also provides an antimicrobial property, with silver technology. Mepilex Heel Ag inactivates wound related pathogens within 30 minutes with sustained effect up to 7 days4,5,6,7. By reducing the number of microorganisms, Mepilex Heel Ag may also reduce odour8. This makes it suitable for wounds on the heel when there are signs of infection. With the Safetac® technology adhesive, Mepilex Heel Ag can be removed with less risk of trauma to the wound or surrounding skin. The Safetac technology also prevents Mepilex Heel Ag from sticking to the wound bed yet adheres gently to the surrounding skin allowing easy application of secondary fixation. When necessary, secure Mepilex Heel Ag with Tubifast Fixation

Use Mepilex Heel Ag:

  • When an antimicrobial property is indicated: to reduce microorganisms
  • When an antimicrobial property is indicated: to provide an antimicrobial barrier in wounds at high risk of infection or re-infection1
  • To obtain a rapid (after 30 minutes) and sustained (for 7 days) effective antimicrobial property4,5,6,7
  • To combine antimicrobial properties to a less painful and less stressful care for your patients1,10
