An 88% drop in pressure injuries  

Mastering pressure injury prevention requires meticulous attention to the pressure, friction, shear and microclimate created by prolonged bed-body contact. We’ve accumulated more than 100 pieces of evidence demonstrating the effective performance of our Mepilex® Border dressings in preventing these injuries. One US-based study reported an 88% reduction in pressure injury incidence with Mepilex® Border Sacrum.

Surgical site infections (SSIs) often reflect the quality of hospital care because an estimated 40-60% are considered preventable.    Preventing hospital acquired infections like SSIs is a comprehensive process that includes multiple solutions ⏤ from antimicrobial patient cleansers to post-surgery dressings.

For example, an SSI reduction bundle that included Hibiclens patient bathing solutions delivered an 84% reduction in relative SSI risk as part of an SSI reduction bundle after major gynecologic cancer surgery.

Minimizing glove failure protects providers, patients and profitability. A cost-benefit analysis  quantified the value of Mölnlycke’s more durable, higher-quality surgical Biogel® gloves. The savings from averting just one SSI would offset the cost of a full year’s supply of Biogel gloves. Meaning, for every $1 spent, the hospital can avoid $18.68 in potential SSI costs.
